About Dr Nathan B. Han

Bio

Dr. Han first discovered his passion for medicine while serving as an emergency medical technician during his undergraduate years at Rice University. Through hands-on experience responding to emergency calls, he developed a deep appreciation for frontline medical care. Yet over time, he found himself wanting to do more and to be part of the team guiding patients through recovery and healing. This desire to provide more comprehensive care ultimately led him to pursue a career as a physician. While training at New York University School of Medicine, Dr. Han completed a neurosurgery rotation at Bellevue Hospital, where he was immersed in the care of patients facing critical neurological conditions like traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord trauma. He was moved by the way these conditions impacted patients and their families and equally inspired by the commitment of neurosurgeons working to prevent irreversible damage. That experience solidified his decision to enter the field of neurosurgery, a specialty he felt called to dedicate his life to. Dr. Han is driven by a deep commitment to growth and excellence. He finds energy and motivation in seeing the results of hard work and persistence. He thrives in environments where people challenge one another to improve and push boundaries for the sake of better outcomes. At the heart of his care philosophy is the simple but powerful practice of listening. While modern technology offers increasingly sophisticated tools to aid diagnosis and treatment, Dr. Han believes nothing replaces the insights gained from a patient’s own story. Dr. Han earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency in neurosurgery and enfolded spine fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Additionally, he finished a second fellowship in complex spine and minimally invasive spine surgery at University of California San Francisco.
