Bio

Dipti Itchhaporia is the Eric & Sheila Samson Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Health, director of disease management for Hoag Heart and Vascular Institute and Associate Clinical Professor at University of California, Irvine. She is also Vice President Elect of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Co-Chair for the ACC‘s International Conference in the Middle East.​She has served on the ACC’s Board of Trustees, has been a past Secretary and Chair of the Board of Governors for the ACC and was Past President of the California state chapter of the ACC.​Dr Itchhaporia is on the editorial board for ACC’s extended learning (ACCEL) as well as the Cardiology Today magazine. Nationally, she is a member of the ACC’s Governance committee, the Science and Quality committee, and the 2019 ACC Scientific Session planning committee.​For the past ten year, she has chaired an Annual Cardiovascular Update Meeting held in Newport Beach, CA. Dr Itchhaporia has held many other leadership positions including being on the board of the Western Affiliates Board of the American Heart Association (AHA) and was the past president of the Orange County Chapter of the AHA. She has also served on the National AHA’s Professional Educational Committee.​She completed her residency in internal medicine at Stanford University Medical Center. And then joined the General Medicine Faculty at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) but ultimately went on to do a cardiology fellowship at Georgetown University and an interventional cardiology fellowship at Stanford University. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology and an honorary member of the British Cardiovascular Society.
